A leading fish processing equipment manufacturer with customers around the world needed a reliable stainless steel speed reducer solution for use on a new shipboard fish processing plant. The OEM’s customer modified one of its vessels by extending the hull to accommodate an onboard processing plant where freshly caught fish are processed into boneless fillets and quickly moved into freezers for transport.

To achieve a higher cycle rate for their customers, a mid-Atlantic packaging system manufacturer increased process speed on a box feeding system. Unfortunately, the higher infeed speed created sufficient variation that resulted in occasional jams. The jams caused a loss of productivity as the flow of packaged product was disrupted.

A large manufacturer of die cut lobster bibs was experiencing jams due to the high static cling generated by the web of plastic material as it moved through the process. The static was causing plastic pieces to adhere to equipment rollers, eventually creating jams that were very time consuming to clear.
