Output Shaft Disassembly Single Reduction

 
 


Remove bearing carrier screws from projecting shaft bearing carrier. [photo]
Remove carrier by carefully tapping the output shaft with a soft mallet forcing the bearing carrier on the opposite side to move away from the housing. [photo]
Exercise care not to nick or scratch worm gear or shaft diameters.
Bearing carrier moved away from the housing. [photo]
Notice tape so the keyway doesn't scratch the seal. [photo]
Remove bearing carrier supporting the output shaft. [photo]
Examine output shaft assembly; check tapered roller bearings for signs of contamination or discoloration. Rollers should have continuously smooth action and should not bind or exhibit flat spots. [photo]
 
 
 
 

 
Unbolt other bearing carrier [photo]
Gently tap carrier from opposite side [photo]
Remove carrier [photo]
